PURPOSE: To attain smooth rotation in hand correction without rumbling and use plastic for parts, and reduce the cost by using a clutch mechanism which uses a stepped crown gear for the time correction.
CONSTITUTION: A winding stem pinion 5 engages the inner circumference of a stepped crown gear 8 that a time correction crown gear 7 has in a normal hand advancing state. Then, torque of rotation is transmitted from a minute hand wheel 13 to a speed reduction gear member 6 and then to an hour hand wheel 12. When a time correction is made, a winding stem 4 is pulled out and then the winding stem pinion 5 shifts in engagement position from the inner circumference part of the stepped crown gear 8 to the outer circumferential part. The stepped crown gear 8 has a step between the inner and outer circumferential pitch surfaces, which vary continuously. Therefore, the time correction crown gear 8 slides along the center shaft of the speed reduction gear member as the winding stem pinion 5 moves engaging the outer circumference of the stepped crown gear 8, and a ratchet gear 11 that the time correction crown gear 7 has engages the ratchet gear 10 of the speed reduction gear member 6, which then engages the time correction crown gear 7.
