Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact clutch unit with a simple structure, and a motor comprising the clutch unit.SOLUTION: A clutch unit includes: an input member (an outer ring member 45); a driven rotary shaft (a rotation transmission shaft 7); engagement elements 52 provided between the input member 45 and the driven rotary shaft 7; a retainer 53 in which a first wedge-shaped space and a second wedge-shaped space are formed between the input member 45 and the driven rotary shaft 7, the engagement elements 52 are retained, and the engagement elements 52 are selectively positioned in the first wedge-shaped space or the second wedge-shaped space; and a positioning mechanism for defining a position of the retainer 53. When the engagement elements 52 are positioned in the first wedge-shaped space, only positive torque of the input member 45 is transmitted to the driven rotary shaft 7, and when the engagement elements 52 are positioned in the second wedge-shaped space, only torque in the reverse direction of the input member 45 is transmitted to the driven rotary shaft 7.
