Abstract:

To easily determine whether caulking condition of a claw portion of a brake-side side plate is good or not.

A clutch unit comprises a lever-side clutch part provided at an input side for controlling the connection/disconnection of a rotation torque to an output side by operating a lever, and a brake-side clutch part provided at the output side for transmitting an input torque from the lever-side clutch part to the output side and disconnecting a reverse input torque from the output side. The brake-side clutch part has a lever-side side plate 25 restrained to prevent its rotation, a brake-side outer ring 23 and a cover 24. A fork-shaped claw portion 25a formed at the outer periphery of the brake-side side plate 25 is inserted into a cutout recessed part 24a formed at the outer periphery of the brake-side outer ring 23 and the cover 24, and caulked by expanding a tip end 25a1outward so that the brake-side outer ring 23 and the cover 24 are connected so as to be integrated with the brake-side side plate 25. In the fork-shaped claw portion 25a of the brake-side side plate 25, an inside end face corner part of a fork-shaped tip end 25a1is subjected to chamfering 25a2.
