Title:
CLUTCH
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3496235
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide stable operation by a method wherein the protrusion part of a clutch member is formed in the shape of a chevron in cross section in which the inclination angle on the top part side is lower than an inclination angle on the root side.
CONSTITUTION: A clutch comprises a protrusion part 32 formed on the end face in an axial direction of an idling ring gear 31; a ball 33 engaged with the protrusion part 32; and a clutch spring brought into resilient contact with the ball 33 through a clutch disc. During cut off of transmission of a power by means of a clutch, the ball 33 is pressed out against a clutch spring by the ring gear 31. In this case, the ball 33 climbs up the slope of the protrusion part 32 of the ring gear 31 but between a force F1 by which the ring gear 31 pushes the ball 33 during the starting of climbing and a force F2 high enough to allow the ball 33 climbed by dy to climb up the slope of the protrusion part 32, a state of F2<F1 can be kept since the angle θ2 on the top part side of the slope of the protrusion part 32 is reduced to a value lower than an angle θ1 on the root side though the spring load of the clutch spring is increased. Thus, the ball 33 is caused to easily climb over the protrusion part 32 and stable clutch operation is provided.
