PURPOSE: To reduce the number of parts by enabling the inner peripheral end part of a diaphragm spring to be moved in the axial direction by means of a release spring and making the diaphragm spring serve as a load generating part and a lever part.

CONSTITUTION: An adjust ring 11 is screwed into the screw part 10 of a pressure plate 7 and a diaphragm spring 15 is brought into contact with its fulcrum land part 9. And, the gap between the diaphragm spring 15 and a release bearing 16 and a pressing load, etc., are adjusted by rotatingly adjusting the adjust ring 11 with respect to the pressure plate 7. Hence, the diaphragm spring 15 serves as both load generating part and lever part, reducing the number of parts.
