A check valve 52 is located in a refrigerant passage 133 to discharge a refrigerant from a discharge chamber 132 to an external refrigerant circuit 45. A spring member 54 energizes a valve element 521 in a direction in which a valve hole 134 is closed. When the valve element 521 is situated in a closing position, refrigerant gas in the discharge chamber 132 flows out to an external refrigerant circuit 45 through the valve hole 134, a bypass circuit, a through-port 522, and the cylinder of the valve element 521. When the inclination angle of a swash plate 23 to bring a cut-off valve 30 into contact with a positioning surface 35 is minimized, the check valve 52 is closed and refrigerant gas in the discharge chamber 132 flows out to an external refrigerant circuit 45.
