Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solidifying material and a solidification method by which granular coal ash free of sticky property, having sustainable granular property even in a long storage time, and easy to handle can be produced.
SOLUTION: This solidifying material for coal ash contains a water-soluble polymer together with an inorganic acid and/or an organic acid and the water- soluble polymer is preferably a polymer consisting of carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid alkali metal salt as a repeating unit. The solidifying material may additionally contain a hydraulic substance. The solidifying material and water are mixed coal ash to granulate coal ash. In case that a hydraulic substance is added to the solidifying material, the water-soluble polymer, an inorganic acid and/or an organic acid and water are mixed with coal ash to granulate coal ash and after that the hydraulic substance is added to the resultant coal ash.
