Abstract:
PURPOSE: To dispense with, apart from coal, any fuel, such as light oil, for the ignition, start-up, and improvement of combustion in the operation of a coal-firing furnace such as a coal-firing boiler.
CONSTITUTION: A gas generator (coal gasifier) 1 for producing fuel gas from coal by heating and a tank (gas storage tank) 2 for storing the fuel gas are provided alongside a coal-firing furnace (coal-firing boiler 3). The coal-firing furnace 3 is equipped with a burner 6 to which fuel gas is fed from the tank 2.
