Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coal gasification direct reduction process by which the remaining heat of reducing furnace top gas (exhaust gas from an iron ore reducing furnace) and/or coal gasification furnace gas (synthesis gas produced by gasifying coal in a coal gasification furnace) can effectively be utilized and thermal efficiency can be improved.
SOLUTION: The coal gasification direct reduction process has a step of forming the coal gasification furnace gas and a step of reducing iron ore in the iron ore reducing furnace by utilizing reducing gas in the coal gasification furnace gas. The process characteristically has a coal-moisture-controlling step where coal is subjected to moisture control by utilizing the reducing furnace top gas as a heat source and/or a step where the coal gasification furnace gas is subjected to pressure reduction by means of a power recovery device, and the synthesis gas whose pressure is reduced using the device is supplied into the above iron ore reducing furnace.
