Abstract:
PURPOSE: To remove hydrophilic ash easily, and to improve handleability of coal without binding granulated coal firmly, by using an oil having a high pour point, reducing extremely its viscosity at a temperature ≥ the pour point as a binder oil.
CONSTITUTION: An oil (e.g., crude oil containing a large amount of paraffin hydrocarbon such as Pennsylvania crude oil, Minas crude oil, Taching crude oil, Ishikari crude oil, etc.) having a high pour point (about 20W50°C), and properties to reduce its viscosity at a temperature ≥ the pour point is used as a binder oil, the oil is added to coal water slurry at a temperature ≥ the pour point, they are blended with stirring, to carry out coal granulation and removel of ash from the coal.
