A coal supply device of a coal crusher is provided with a vertical screw 12 arranged on an upper side of the coal crusher 11, a double hopper 9 which receives coal 6 from a coal conveyance device 5, an inclined chute 10 which supplies coal 6 in the double hopper 9 to a side of the vertical screw 12 at a required inclination angle, a level detector 29 which detects a level of the coal 6 in the double hopper 9, and a controller 32 which inputs a signal 30 detected by the level detector 29 and a set value 31 and controls conveyance speed of the coal conveyance device 5 so that the level of coal in the double hopper 9 becomes a predetermined level. Press-in force 33 is generated in the coal 6 in the inclined chute 10.
