Title:
COAL TAR-EPOXY RESIN COATING COMPOSITION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5552353
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a coal tar-epoxy resin coating composition having excellent interlaminar adhesivity, composed of bituminous substance derived from coal tar, an epoxy resin, a phenolic compound, a salicylic acid derivative, and a thioether compound.

CONSTITUTION: A coating composition composed of a bituminous substance derived from coal tar, an epxoy resin and an epoxy resin hardener, is compounded with (A) 0.1W30wt% of a compound selected from (a) a phenolic compound having chain-transfer inhibiting activity to radical polymerization, and capable of being oxidized to form a quinoid, (b) an aromatic amine compound having an active H-N bond in the molecule and incapable of curing the epoxy resin at room temperature, and (c) a sulphur compound having chain transfer inhibiting activity to radical polymerization, and containing -C(S)S- bond in the molecule, (B) 0.2W15wt% of a UV-absorbing salicylic acid derivative, and (C) 0.1W5wt% of a thioether compound capable of decomposing peroxides to inert compounds.
