PURPOSE: To obtain a multi-layer coated article which is highly corrosion-inhibitive and adhesive by providing a first coated layer consisting of powder paint with high melting point and adhesion, formed by a fluid immersion method, and a second coated layer and subsequent layers of a powder paint with a melting point becoming lower to the order of lamination, formed by the fluid immersion method using powder paint with superior physical property.
CONSTITUTION: After treatment of the surface of a coated object 1, a chemically coated layer (primer layer) 2 is formed. Next, the surface temperature of the coated object 1 is preheated at a temperature higher than the surface temperature of the powder paint of the first layer. Then the first-stage fluid immersion coating procedures are taken to form the first coated layer. After this, powder paint for the second layer is applied using the fluid immersion method or the electrostatic coating method in a state where the first coated layer 3 is completely molten. Thus the second coated layer 4 is formed. At that time, coating resin for the first layer to be applied should be a resin with comparatively higher melting point and viscosity. The coating resin for the second layer to be applied should be a resin with a lower melting point than the coating resin for the first layer and also with a property to make up for the property of the coating resin for the first layer, e.g., high hot water and chemical resistance.
