Abstract:

To provide an electric wave absorber which shows better electric wave absorbing characteristics than a conventional resonant single layer sheet in broader bands, and is remarkably thinner than a conventional pyramidal electric wave absorber for a microwave chamber having broad-band characteristics.

According to the coated-bar array type electric wave absorber, an array of columnar conductor cores 1 coated with an electric absorbing material (coated bars) are formed on the electric wave incident side of a conductor reflective plate 2 or a conductor reflective plate 2 coated with an electric wave absorbing material. The diameter of each columnar conductor cores 1 is 1/20 of the wavelength of the incident electric wave or larger, and a gap at each coated bar 1 is equal to the wavelength of the incident electric wave or smaller.
