This coated granular butter or coated granular butter fat is obtained by coating granular butter or granular butter fat having a granule size of 1.68-11.1mm with commercially available powder butter in an amount of 5-50wt.% based on the weight of the granular butter or the granular butter fat. The coating method comprises stirring and mixing the granular butter or the granular butter fat with the powder butter by the use of a mixer at a temperature that the surface temperature of the granular butter or the granular butter fat is 5-20°C. When the granular butter or the granular butter fat is coated with the powder butter, small amounts of dextrin, an emulsifier, silicon dioxide, etc., may simultaneously be used as coating auxillaries.
