Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent blocking resistance and excellent formability by forming an overcoating layer by applying a coating compsn. containing polyester beads which has higher glass transition temp. by specified degrees than that of a polyester resin and does not shows complete compatible state with a polyester resin when a coating film is baked.
SOLUTION: A chemical conversion layer is formed by chromate treatment or the like on a metal plate such as galvanized steel sheet. Then a base coating layer is formed by using a polyester coating material. Then an overcoating layer is formed on the metal plate where the base coating layer is formed. The overcoating layer consists of a coating compsn. containing a polymerized polyester resin, a hardening agent such as a melamine resin and specified polyester beads. The polyester beads used have Tg higher by ≥20°C than Tg of the polyester resin. During the film is formed, the beads do not completely dissolve with the polyester resin or decompose but are locally present in the coating film. This realizes both of antiblocking property and good formability.
