Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coated paper for offset printing excellent in dimension stability and blister resistance.
SOLUTION: This coated paper for offset printing is obtained by providing a base paper made by using a gap former paper machine with a coated layer consisting essentially of a pigment and an adhesive. At least one kind of a pulp constituting the base paper is a bleached pulp obtained by digesting wood chips by a modified alkali digesting method comprising divided addition of a digesting chemical solution and a parallel current digestion and a counter current digestion in a digester to give an unbleached pulp, delignifying the unbleached pulp with oxygen, then treating the delignified pulp with an enzyme having xylan decomposing activity but not filter paper decomposing activity and bleaching the treated pulp by a multi-stage method. The bleached pulp constituting the base paper amounts to 60-100wt.% based on the absolute dry weight of whole pulp.
