Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coated paper for offset printing, having excellent white paper glossiness, opacity, printing surface strength and blister resistance suitability by making the coated paper include precipitated calcium carbonate having a specific shape.
SOLUTION: In this coated paper for offset printing having a coated layer comprising a pigment and an adhesive as main components on a base paper, the coated paper for offset printing is characterized by comprising ≥50 wt.% based on the whole pigment of precipitated calcium carbonate having 0.25-0.90 μm average particle diameter as the pigment obtained by subjecting precipitated calcium carbonate in a shape of chestnut in bur to wet grinding.
