This coated paper for printing is produced by controlling the ratio (top wire/bottom wire) of dehydration amount until the raw material concentration between wires attains 2 wt.% at the time of forming a sheet of base paper to ≤0.6 and ≥0.25 and one or more shoe type wet press devices are used in the production of the coated paper for printing by coating the top surface of the sheet of the base paper formed by using a gap type former with a water-based coating composition consisting essentially of a pigment and an adhesive, drying and finishing the sheet of the coated base paper.
