Abstract:
To provide a coated paper for printing having high bulkiness and a high degree of whiteness, excellent print-appearance, high opacity and good printing-workability in spite of low basis weight and low coating amount.
The coated paper for printing is produced by coating a base paper with a coating liquid containing a pigment and an adhesive, wherein the base paper contains ≥10 wt.% and <50 wt.% of mechanical pulp with respect to dry weight of the whole pulp, the mechanical pulp contains broadleaf-tree thermomechanical pulp having freeness of 100-250 ml, ash content of the base paper before coating is ≥10 wt.%, the coating amount on one surface is 0.5-5 g/m2, the basis weight is ≤50 g/m2 after calendaring, and a density is ≤0.70 g/cm3.
