PURPOSE: To prepare a coated polycarbonate resin (PC) molded article having excellent wear resistance, adhesive property, weather resistance and solvent resistance, by coating and baking specific primer having good adhesive property and thereafter coating and baking a silicon topcoating.
CONSTITUTION: A PC substrate is coated with (A) a primer, e.g. a polymer having the recurrent unit expressed by the formula (R4 and R5 are H, alkyl, etc.; X is carboxyl, etc.), etc., and baked, and further coated with (B) a topcoating composition comprising (a) 100 parts by weight of the partial cohydrolyzate of a tetraalkoxysilicon Si(OR1)4 (R1 is 1W4C alkyl) and an organosilicon compound R2nSi(OR3)4-n ( n is 1W3, R2 is 1W6C hydrocarbon; R3 is 1W4C alkyl ), etc., (b) 10W400 parts by weight of a copolymer of an alkyl (meth)acrylate with a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate, and (c) 0W300 parts by weight of an etherized methylolmelamine, and baked.
