PURPOSE: To obtain a coated thiamine preparation for pisciculture, by coating thiamine or a thiamine salt with a coating agent composed mainly of a higher fatty acid or glycerol fatty acid ester and containing a surface active agent.
CONSTITUTION: Thiamine is coated with the above coating agent by spraying, rolling, microencapsulation, etc., preferably by spraying. The spray coating is carried out by (1) melting a fatty acid such as lauric acid, palmitic acid, etc. or a glycerol fatty acid ester, used as a main material of the coating agent, (2) adding and mixing a fatty acid ester-type surface active agent such as sucrose fatty acid ester, propylene glycol fatty acid ester, etc. or a phospholipid-type surface active agent such as phosphatidyl choline, etc. to the molten fatty acid, (3) adding and uniformly mixing thiamine or a thiamine salt such as thiamine hydrochloride, lauryl sulfate, etc., and spraying the mixture to obtain powdery preparation.
