Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating agent for barrier excellent in viscosity stability and transparency and capable of manufacturing a film excellent in gas barrier property.SOLUTION: There is provided a coating agent for barrier containing ethylene modified polyvinyl alcohol having percentage content of an ethylene unit of 1 to 15 mol%, saponification degree of 80 to 99.9 mol%, viscosity average polymerization degree of 200 to 5000 and symmetry coefficient based on JIS K 0124 (2011) measured by a reverse phase partition gradient high speed liquid chromatography by water-1-propanol eluent satisfying the following formula (1). 0.70≤W/2f≤1.10 (1), where Wrepresents a peak width at peak 5% height position and f represents a distance from a peak initiation point a on the peak width at peak 5% height position to an intersection point b between a horizontal line containing the peak initiation point a and perpendicular containing a peak apex.SELECTED DRAWING: None
