Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating agent for paper comprising a (meth)acrylic liquid resin and a (meth)acrylate-based monomer having a specific molecular weight and used in order to protect the surface of packaging material made of paper such as shopping back and a printed article such as label.
SOLUTION: This coating agent for paper comprises (A) 5-50% (meth)acrylic liquid resin obtained by (co)polymerizing 20-100wt.% alkyl (meth)acrylate-based monomer of the formula CH2=C(R1)COO-R2 (R1 is H or CH3; R2 is a 4-22C alkyl) or polyalkylene glycol (meth)acrylate-based monomer of the formula CH2C(R1)COO(CnH2nO)mR3 [R3 is H, a 1-5C alkyl or phenyl; (n) is 1-3; (m) is 2-25] with 0-80wt.% other polymerizable vinyl monomer and having 10,000-200,000 number-average molecular weight when a monomer mixture having 100-1500 average molecular weight of total monomer is (co)polymerized and having 1-10,000 poise viscosity and (B) 20-95% (meth)acrylate-based monomer having 80-1,000 molecular weight.
