To provide a coating applicator for an electrophotographic organic photoreceptor which is capable of obtaining good images by rapidly removing the air bubbles generated in a coating liquid, thereby forming a photosensitive layer free from capturing the air bubbles.

A centrifugal air bubble separator is disposed between a application vessel and a pump of the coating applicator which has a coating liquid circulating mechanism consisting of the application vessel having the coating liquid for forming the coating film of the organic photosensitive layer on the outside surface of a cylindrical substrate by a dip application method, a replenishing vessel for recovering the coating liquid flowing over from the application vessel through recovering piping and supply piping for resupplying the coating liquid from the replenishing vessel to the application vessel by the pump and a lifting mechanism for immersing the cylindrical substrate into the application vessel.
