Abstract:
To enable setting of an interval between the coating head and a substrate surface with high precision, easily, and in a short period of time, in non-contact with the substrate surface over a direction where the coating tip part extends, and further adjustment of the gap with high precision even in the middle of coating, in a non-contact coating using a coating head in which the coating tip part such as a slit nozzle and a blade extends in one direction.SOLUTION: A coating applicator comprises: a coating head comprising a coating tip part extending in one direction; a coating liquid supply means; substrate holding means that holds a substrate; and coating head holding means that supports the coating head so that the coating tip part of the coating head and a surface to be coated of the substrate can be adjusted nearly at a fixed interval and nearly in parallel with each other. In the coating applicator, the coating head holding means also has a gas jetting means that jets a gas out of its gas jetting face to a face to be coated of the substrate and the like and separates the face to be coated and the gas jetting face from each other at a prescribed interval and position adjustment means capable of adjusting a relative distance between the coating tip part of the coating head and the gas jetting face, on both sides of the coating head.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
