Abstract:
PURPOSE:To attempt a formation of a uniformly coated layer by forming slopes in the upper edge of a side all of an applicator vessel adjacent to at least one of the inner and outer peripheral faces of the vessel so that any substantially horizontal planes do not exist in the aforementioned upper edge. CONSTITUTION:In case that a body 6 is coated with a coating liquid 3 contained in an applicator vessel 10 by dipping the body 6 into the liquid 3 and then lifting it, the coating liquid 3 is supplied into the vessel from below and allowed to overflow an upper edge 4a of the side wall 4 of the vessel. Slopes 1 and 2, which are adjacent to at least one of the inner and outer peripheral faces, 4b and 4c, of the side wall 4 of the applicator vessel, are formed in the upper edge 4a so that any substantially horizontal planes do not exist in the upper edge 4a. The upper edge 4 becomes, as a result, so wettable that an increase of the amount of coating liquid accompanying a pulsation of a pump is easily allowed to overflow the upper edge so as to prevent vertical movements of a liquid surface. Stepwise unevenness of coating can be prevented, and a uniform coating layer is obtained accordingly.
