PURPOSE: To improve the surface performances of gloss, hardness, resistance to scuffing and the like without damaging the moisture absorption properties of a base by laminating the base, a film containing fine particles like inorganic oxide at the specified ratio and a curable film having permeability in this order.

CONSTITUTION: Surface performances such surface gloss, surface hardness, resistance to scuffing and the like of a base are secured without damaging the moisture absorption performance of the base provided with moisture absorption properties by a coating article. The article is utilized as a humidity controller or a condensation preventing material for a building interior material or an indoor furnishing. In that case, the coating article is constituted by laminating a water-absorption base, a film containing 25wt.% of a particle-like inorganic oxide and a permeable curable film in said order. The average particle diameter of fine particles is set within the range of 1μm-200μm. The respective surface performances of the coating article are improved respectively by this arrangement.
