To provide a clear coating composition for obtaining a coating film excellently resistant to scratches, to weather, and in particular, to water stain, and to provide a coated article.
The clear coating composition comprises an acrylic resin and an isocyanate compound. In the molecule of the acrylic resin, structural units (A) based on -caprolactone and structural units (B) based on a radical-polymerizable monomer having a ring structure are contained, and a content percentage of the structural units (A) is 15 mass% or more, while a mass ratio (A)/(B) of the structural units (A) to the structural units (B) ranges from 1/1 to 1/0.5. In a cured coating film obtained from the clear coating composition, a breaking elongation rate at 20C is 20-40%, and molecular weight between cross-link points is 300-400 g/mol.
