Title:
COATING COMPOSITION FOR GOLF BALL, AND GOLF BALL USING COATING COMPOSITION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000167085
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To extend a pot life and improve workability and productivity in a manufacturing process, by simultaneously mixing a metal chelating agent whose boiling point is a specific temperature and an organic metal compound as a hardening catalyst into two-liquid-hardening-type polyurethane coating composed of polyol and isocyanate.

A metal chelating agent whose boiling point is lower than 200°C and an organic metal compound as a hardening catalyst into two-liquid- hardening-type polyurethane coating composed of polyol and isocyanate to form a golf ball coating composition. Here, the boiling point of the metal chelating agent is lower than 150°C, and the metal chelating agent is acetylacetone or its fluorine substitution. A metal component of the organic metal compound is tin or zinc. A golf ball is coated with this golf ball coating composition. This golf ball coating composition has a long pot life and reduced cure time required for hardening, and therefore, is excellent in handling.
