PURPOSE: To effectively reduce an amount of a solvent in a coating material without damaging characteristics of the coating material.

CONSTITUTION: This coating composition having a high solid content comprises a first component composed of a polyester oligomer having ≤2,000 number- average molecular weight obtained by reacting a tri- or polyfunctional hydroxyl group-containing compound having ≤200 molecular weight with an acid anhydride compound to give a compound and reacting this compound with a monofunctional epoxy compound and a second component composed of a curing agent having reactivity with hydroxyl group as essential components.
