Title:
COATING COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING ANIMAL BITING DAMAGE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3053480
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a coating composition for preventing animal biting damage containing microcapsules prepared by coating capsaicins having intense pungent taste and irritancy and repellency for animals as a core substance with a melamine resin film.
CONSTITUTION: A coating composition is obtained by including microcapsules prepared by coating capsaicins expressed by the formula (R is 7-12C alkyl or alkenyl) (e.g. caprylic acid vanillylamide) as a core substance with a melamine resin film in the coating. The microcapsules, containing ≥90% grains having a grain diameter especially within the range of 5-100μm and having 15-50μm average grain diameter have higher effects. This coating has excellent preventing effects on animal biting damage without affecting the curing of the film after coating. The irritancy to humans and pungent taste are remarkably reduced to facilitate the handling.
