PURPOSE: To obtain a composition which improves a grip of a ball while allowing smooth sliding and optimizes use under a wet condition by comprising a binder or a matrix, which firmly sticks to a ball surface, and a specific inorganic builder.

CONSTITUTION: This composition consists of (A) a binder or matrix, which can firmly stick to a ball surface, and (B) an inorganic builder which consists of particles containing one or more kinds of hydrophilic substances possessing a large surface area and low specific gravity. Compounds of formula A consist preferably of emulsion type polyurethane and the like.
