Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition which can form coated layers much improved in resistance to acid, flexibility, anti-staining properties and gloss without damage to the appearance of finished coated layers, resistances to weather, physical properties and the like.
SOLUTION: This coating composition contains (A) a hydroxyl group- containing vinyl resin which contains 40-90wt.% of a vinyl monomer bearing an aromatic hydrocarbon ring as a monomer (B) an etherified melamine resin prepared by substituting a part of the whole part or hexa- methoxymethylmelamine and/or its methoxy groups with a monohydric alcohol of 4 or more carbon atoms, (C) fine particles of polymer with an average particle size of 0.01-1μm and (D) a polysiloxane represented by the formula (R1, R2, R3 and R4 are same pr different and represent a 1-10C alkyl, a 1-10C alkoxy or hydroxyl; R5 and R6 are same or different and represent a 1-10C alkyl or hydrogen atom; (n) is an integer of 10-1,000).
