To obtain the subject composition capable of forming a film free from defect due to imperfect curing, etc., and excellent in hardness, appearance and scratch resistance by combinedly using a reactive oligomer, a monomer having high glass transition temperature and an acrylamide-based monomer.
This coating composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. coating film-forming binder comprising 10-50 wt.% reactive oligomer (A1) having 600-1,000 number-average molecular weight and having polymerizable unsaturated group in the molecule, 10-50 wt.% polymerizable unsaturated monomer (A2) which is N-acryloylmorpholine, 2,4,6-tribromophenylacrylate or N-vinyl-2- caprolactam, 5-30 wt.% compound (A3) of the formula [R1 is H or methyl; R2 is H or a 1-4C alkyl] and 0-75 wt.% other polymerizable unsaturated compound (A4) having <600 molecular weight other than the monomer A2 and the compound A3, (B) 0.01-4 pts.wt. curing catalyst which is a sulfonic acid compound (amine salt) and (C) 10-200 pts.wt. titanium white pigment.
