To provide a coating composition used as a can coating material, excellent in screw processability and plug-opening property at a high temperature (approximately in the vicinity of 40-80°C) as the finish coating for a bottle can having a screw-processed part or as the finish coating for the inside surface of cap of the bottle can, and further, capable of forming a coating film having a high gloss and excellent in designing property.
This coating composition contains (A) a polyester resin, (B) a curing agent which is an amino resin or a phenol resin, and (C) organic polymer fine particles, The blending ratio of (A) the polyester resin to (B) the curing agent is (45/55)-(90/10) range by the mass ratio of the solid portions of (A)/(B), and the substance of (C) the organic polymer fine particles is ≥1 selected from a group consisting of a benzoguanamine-melamine-formaldehyde condensate, melamine-formaldehyde condensate, urea-formaldehyde condensate and polymethyl methacrylate-based cross-linked material.
