Abstract:

To provide a coating composition superior in heat retentivity or thermal insulation ability, and easy to coat thick.

The coating composition comprises: beads of inorganic microballoons; an emulsion structure-retaining material to the beads; and a thickening agent. In this coating composition, the beads' content is 1.5-3.5 in mass ratio based on the emulsion structure-retaining material. This coating composition, because of stably bonding/holding the beads of inorganic microballoons by the emulsion structure-retaining material and the thickening agent, can form a thick coating film, and the thus formed coating film can exhibit excellent heat retentivity or thermal insulation ability inherent in the beads of inorganic microballoons as well.
