Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a coating composition having sustainable undersea antifouling effect, comprising an antifouling agent and a copolymer of an organosilicon monomer and at least one kind of monomer selected from those bearing tertiary amino group, quaternary ammonium salt group, nitrogen-contg. heterocycle, oxyethylene group and active hydrogen-free group, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: This coating composition essentially comprises an antifouling agent and a copolymer of (A) a triorganosilyl group-bearing monomer of formula I [R1-R3 are each an alkyl or aryl; X is (meth)acryloyloxy, maleinoyloxy, fumaroyloxy or itaconoyloxy] with (B) at least one kind of monomer selected from those bearing group of formula II (R4 is H or methyl; R5 is an alkylene; R6 and R7 are each an alkyl), group of formula III (R8 is H or methyl; R9 is an alkylene; R10-R12 are each an alkyl; Y is a halogen), nitrogen-contg. heterocyclic group, and a group of formula IV (R13 is H or methyl; R14 is ethylene; R15 is propylene; R16 is butylene; R17 is an alkyl, or aryl.; (m), (n) and (o) are each ≥0) or an N-substituted (meth)acrylamide, acrylonitrile, etc.
