PURPOSE: To obtain a surface-protective composition which can rapidly cure upon irradiation with UV by mixing a reactive oligomer such as an unsaturated polyester with a vinyl reactive monomer and a photoinitiator.

CONSTITUTION: This composition is produced by mixing a reactive oligomer comprising an unsaturated polyester, a polyester acrylate, a chlorinated polyester, an epoxy acrylate, a urethane acrylate, a linear acrylic oligomer or a mixture of at least two of them with a (meth)acrylic ester, a maleic ester, a fumaric ester, a vinyl ester, a vinylaromatic hydrocarbon, a vinyl heterocyclic compound, a reactive alkyl compound or a mixture of at least two of them and a photoinitiator (e.g. 2-hydroxy-2-methyl-1-phenylpropan-1-one).
