PURPOSE: The titled composition, consisting of a specific acrylic resin and an organoalkoxysilane compound having a functional group reactive with the functional groups in the resin, having improved chemical and physical properties, and capable of forming tough films at ordinary temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A coating composition prepared by incorporating 10W90wt% acrylic resin, e.g. polymerized (meth)acrylic ester such as methyl acrylate with 90W10wt% organoalkoxysilane compound having a functional group reactive with the functional groups in the (meth)acrylic resin, e.g. vinyltriethoxysilane, and mixing the resultant film-forming component with 10W1,200wt%, based on the total amount of the components, hydrous hydrophilic organic solvent, e.g. ethyl cellosolve, with 50wt% or less water.
EFFECT: Improved storage stability and solvent, staining, heat resistance, etc.
