Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily coat the sliding face contg. hyper-eutectic aluminum-silicon alloy with coating of high quality by forming an ununiform layer structure composed of aluminum mixed crystals, silicon precipitates, intermetallic phases such as Al2Cu and Mg2Si and oxides, and in which the average sizes of the silicon primary precipitates and oxides to not more than specified value.
SOLUTION: Spepcial Al-Si thermal spraying powder such as alloy powder, e.g. composed of, by weight, 23.0 to 40.0%, preferably about 25% Si, 0.8 to 2.0%, preferably about 1.2% Mg, ≤4.5%, preferably 3.9% Cu, ≤0.6% Zr, ≤0.25% Fe, respectively ≤0.01% Mn, Ni and Zn, and the balance Al is used, and coating is produced by an atmospheric plasma spraying method. In this way, wear resistant coating with an ununiform layer structure contg. Al mixed crystals, silicon precipitates, intermetallic phases such as Al2Cu and Mg2Si and oxides, and in which the average size of the silicon primary precipitates is <10 μm and the average size of the oxides is <5 μm can be obtd. in the process of the formation of a lamellar layer.
