To offer a thermal transfer image receiving sheet which can not only maintain the picture quality but also can control change of coating liquid consistency with time on the receiving layer and the change of the image receiving sheet with time before printing and can obtain the superb quality images.
The invention offers the thermal transfer image receiving sheet 10 which has the base material 11, and a receiving layer 12 formed on the base materal and containing an acetal resin with the specific structure, coloring matter of thermal diffusion property and metal ion content compound which can be chelated. The consistency of the coating liquid forming the receiving layer has a viscosity in second measured by a Zahn cup (Rigo Co., Ltd., No.4) of less than 10 seconds in both conditions when the coating liquid is adjusted and produced and after 30 minutes stirring from the time of production. Also, it is preferable that glass transition temperature of the acetal resin is 85C or more.
