The coating liquid for the wood surface comprises a silane compound and a catalyst for curing and/or solidifying the silane compound as principal components. The silane compound is represented by formula (1) (wherein, R1, R2 and R3 are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C alkyl group which may each be same or different; R4 is a 1-10C alkyl group, a 1-10C alkenyl group or a phenyl group which may contain a halogen atom or an epoxy group in the group; and n is 2-10).
