To obtain a coating material for a building or an architectural material having excellent adhesivity and spreadability to various kinds of the building materials, hardly falling off from the building materials, having sufficient waterproofness and moisture permeability, hardly adhering stain in rainwater, to the coating material and being readily cleaned, and to provide a method for building material coating.
A mixture of water-soluble hardening agent, white cement, ultrafine silica and carbon fibers, is applied to the surface of the building material 1 and dried to form a substrate layer 2. The surface of the substrate layer 2 is coated with a water-soluble intermediate coating obtained by adding a pigment to an acrylic resin emulsion and dried to form an intermediate coating layer 3. The surface of the intermediate coating layer 3 is coated with a water- soluble finishing material consisting essentially of a polyamide resin and dried to form a protective film layer 4.
