Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject coating material useful for the car industry containing a resin mixture of a polyurethane and an acrylic resin and a crosslinking agent and improved in the resistances against the flexibility and stone chipping of the coating.
CONSTITUTION: The objective coating material contains (A) a resin mixture of a polyurethane resin with a mol.wt. of 300-5,000 having a functional group of either one of hydroxy, amino and epoxy functional groups and (ii) an acrylic resin with a measured Tg of 30-60°C having a functional group of either one of hydroxy, amino and epoxy functional groups and (B) a crosslinking agent reactive with the functional groups of the components (i), (ii), pref., a polyisocyanate or aminoplast resin. As the component (i), a component obtained by reacting a hydroxy functional polyol such as an alkyl polyol or the like with an isocyanate such as a methylenedicyclohexyldiisocyanate or the like is pref. used.
