PURPOSE: To prevent the partial solidification of a coating material in the shaft sealing part between the driving shaft and casing of a gear pump for the coating material.
CONSTITUTION: The coating material supplying device including a color changing device, coating material pipings 13, 14, and the gear pump 20 for the coating material housed in the casing 21 is provided with an annular recessed part 37H in a packing rest 37 forming the shaft sealing part provided in parts 22, 21H penetrating the casing of the driving shaft 22. This annular recessed part and a return flow passage 43 are communicated by a 1st communicating path 51 formed in the driving shaft. In addition, the annular recessed part and the return flow passage are communicated by the 2nd communicating path 52 penetrating the casing. A fresh coating material washing liquid is supplied to the annular recessed part from an injection flow passage through the 1st communicating path and is returned through the 2nd communicating path to the return flow passage.
