To provide a coating material which can form a highly weatherable coating film having good surface characteristics, such as capability of preventing scribbling, the ease of stain removal, the ease of peeling, and ink repellency, excellent in adherence to a base material, and suffering little degradation of the coating film and little deterioration of surface characteristics with time, at a low temperature in a short time without adding a substance, such as a catalyst containing a metal, that gives a load on the environment.
The coating material contains a polymer (A) made from 0.5-68.9 wt.% of a monomer (a) having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond and a polyorganosiloxane chain, 31-50 wt.% of a monomer (b) other than the monomer (a), having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond and a crosslinkable functional group, 0.1-5 wt.% of a monomer (c) other than the monomers (a) and (b), having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond and an acidic functional group, and 0-68.4 wt.% of a monomer (d) other than the monomers (a), (b) and (c), having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond, and a crosslinking agent (B) having a reactive functional group capable of reacting with the crosslinkable functional group of the polymer (A).
