To provide a coating for packaging materials imparting deodorizing performance, performances such as radiation performance, moisturizing performance and antimicrobial performance of far-infrared ray to paper or corrugated board by applying the coating to the paper or the corrugated board and imparting a freshness-retaining function especially acquired as a packaging material for foods, vegetables/flower arrangement, etc., to the paper or the corrugated board as a result thereof.

The coating is obtained by formulating a specific natural stone fine powder or natural soil fine powder or mixed fine powder thereof. The coating is applied to the surface of paper or corrugated board.
