Abstract:

To provide a slurry-form coating solution that can give a cation-conductive polymer composite membrane that has excellent ion conductivity since it has low ohmic resistance although it has a low methanol permeability, when it is applied to a direct methanol type fuel cell by pluralizing the kinds of solvents that are used in the production of the cation-conductive polymer composite membrane and by specifying the kinds of additives.

The coating solution for producing a cation-conductive polymer composite membranes comprises 1 to 10 pts.wt. sulfonated clay and a co- solvent including a high boiling solvent boiling at 180 to 250C and a low boiling solvent boiling at 100 to 180C, based on 100 pts.wt. of a polymer having cation-exchangeable group.
