Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily and economically impact abrasion resistance and impact resistance to a sliding face, by bonding a substrate material bondable with an adhesive to both faces of an ultra-high-molecular weight polyethylene sheet and laminating or winding the obtained laminate to a sliding face of a sliding material interposing an adhesive therebetween.

CONSTITUTION: A substrate material (preferably cloth, etc.) bondable with an adhesive is laminated to both surfaces of a sheet of an ultra-high-molecular weight polyethylene (preferably having an intrinsic viscosity of 8dl/g in decalin solution at 135°C) and the obtained laminate sheet is laminated or wound on a sliding face of a sliding material interposing an adhesive between the sheet and the sliding face. If necessary, the surface of the laminated face or the surface of the wound sheet is treated with a sander, etc., to enable the coating of the sliding face with single laminate sheet irrespective of the diameter and length of the sliding face.
